Hundreds of volunteers help with the day to day operations of Thrift on Kent. We’re always looking for volunteers to receive donations, sort/price items, help on the truck, and to be the face of Thrift on Kent by working with our customers. If you have a few hours a week or several days a month, please call or email us for details. We always appreciate volunteers with specific knowledge and talents to enhance our shop and donations.

Talents Not Wasted

Talents Not Wasted 15 September 2013

At Thrift on Kent we value our volunteers and the experiences they bring to our shop.  We have people who know how to fix sewing machines and they volunteer their time fixing and checking over the machines donated to the store.  Thus ensuring that our shoppers get a great, working sewing machine.  We also have people who can do small fixes on electronics.  There are those who know antiques and they give advice on our silent auction items.

What type of talents can you volunteer?

Are you a graphic arts student who needs to build up their portfolio and would like to add to your volunteer hours at the same time?  Maybe you're a computer major and could help us in the office... Are you a high school student who needs experience in a retail setting?  You may be a knitter and your expertise could be used to price and sort yarn, wool and craft items.  We encourage you to think outside the box and let us know how we can best use your skills as a volunteer at Thrift on Kent.
