The second hand resale market is a very competitive industry. More and more FOR profit businesses and charities are getting on board. It’s important for you, our valued customers and donors to understand the difference.
As a charity we rely solely on donated goods. We do not purchase liquidated items or used items. We are also predominantly a volunteer run thrift shop. Compared to the number of our volunteers (around 300), our paid staff is but a few.
All of our proceeds, after expenses, go to Mennonite Central Committee Ontario for their relief, development and peace work they do here at home, in our communities and around the world.
To say we appreciate the generosity of our donors and volunteers is an understatement and indeed we could not operate our thrift shop without you.
We also deeply appreciate the ongoing support of our local community and shoppers. We value the ways that we can partner with local agencies to meet the needs of individuals and families, keep items out of the Regional landfill and to enrich our community.
